When is it a good idea to cross the 'Initialise' box?
The activation of the 'initialise' function requests the editorial system to copy all contents, pages, images, document, style and JavaScript files - everything which belongs to the website - onto the webserver. At the same time, files which are already available (or should be available) on the webserver are also copied.
If you want to publish your site on a new, empty webserver then with 'initialise' you can ensure that all of the accompanying files end up where they belong.
